archive: 27 may 2007: back in berea

ok, so yeah, I am addicted to the internet. Must have my fix, must be able to check email and write occasional blogs. I turned off the internet at my apartment back in April because I was going to be gone for two months, plus some, and I didn't see the point in paying for it when I wasn't going to be there to use it. And here I am, the first Saturday night I am back in Berea and I am sitting outside BC&T typing a MySpace blog entry about it.

Damn, I missed this town when I was gone.

I just watched Pan's Labrynth (sp?) and it was a beautiful film. Absolutely wonderful in music, art, plot.... the history and the tyrant. I was horrified by the Captain's actions. Absolutely horrified.

Tomorrow I will try to wake up and get to the graduation ceremonies in the morning. I want to see some of these exceptional folks walk across that stage and start a new beginning. :)

Well, now I must upload more photos to Flickr. Later taters!

archive: 11 may 2007: writing for local magazines

I just finished watching "Georgia Rule" in the theatre. It was pretty good, a fun movie, even though there are many time I wanted to SLAP Lindsey Lohan's ultra bitchy and spoiled character, but then again, she's pretty screwed up and had needed help a long long time earlier in the movie's backstory. Oh well. It was a good generational movie of daughters and mothers and grandmothers reconnecting and bonding. Crazy storyline. But good movie.

I may do a lot of writing in my work blog this weekend. It is possible.

I may also start writing some blog entries in my personal blog about the restuarants and coffee shops I ate and drank at during this entire trip. It requires me to go through the receipts and remember. We'll see if I can remember them all! Maybe some of them have websites that will jog my memory. Several of the coffeehouses did have websites, and today I finally picked up and took with me a copy of the menu. I need to sit and make notes each time I go. I'll try to remember for the rest of my trip to do this. Mom said it can't hurt to try, then edit it, and submit it to local magazines. Who knows what can come of it? In the very least it gives me something to do.

I am reading The Night Watch by Sarah Waters. It is very good, so it will be a battle to either sit and read for hours or to write for hours. I know, but I cannot seem to do both. lol.... I think, right now, I am going to sort out receipts for May so far, write down the names of restuarants and coffeeshops I visited in April and May, and then read for a while. Maybe then go downstairs to eat and have a drink. Maybe...
